47 - Allen Lim Make Your Best Life from Skratch
Sunday Apr 09, 2017
Sunday Apr 09, 2017
Meet Allen Lim. Physiologist. Coach. Entrepreneur. He's a former coach of the cycling stars who brought innovative sports nutrition company Skratch Labs to life after years of making his "secret drink mix" for athletes in grueling endurance events like the Tour de France. Allen and I have run in the same circles for years but we never really hung out until this interview. Here's what I found: An AWESOME guy! I wish I worked at Skratch! Allen has created an inspired, open-minded, free-thinking culture. He is truly a visionary in so many ways. I know you'll absolutely love this episode. It's my longest yet because I just couldn't stop listening!

Meet Jackie Ros - she's a high-energy, innovative-thinker who started the revolutionary tech company Revolar just two years ago. Revolar makes wearable tech devices that allow you to communicate with your loved ones with just a push of a button. If you are actually in danger, it seems like it would be easy to make a phone call, but in the heat of the moment, it's unrealistic to fumble for a phone, unlock it, dial out and wait for answers. Jackie started Revolar after her sister was assaulted as a teenager. The guilt she experienced over not being able to help, led to the idea that would change her life (and many others' lives too).

45 - Chris Waddell Paralympic Legend on Winning at Life
Wednesday Mar 22, 2017
Wednesday Mar 22, 2017
Meet Chris Waddell - speaker, author, athlete (he has 13 Paralympic medals), philanthropist and all-around adventurer. After a ski accident left him paralyzed and unable to walk while in college, Chris simply moved on with his life and adapted his passions around his new body. But as all elite athletes understand, you can only compete at a certain level for so long and at some point it’s time to accept a new phase in life. I personally could relate to this on many levels, but even more so for my husband Tim who, like Chris, reached “best in the world” status. There is so much to take away in this episode that is relatable to all people, regardless of your phase in life.

44 - Mara Abbott Moving on from Olympic Heartbreak
Friday Mar 17, 2017
Friday Mar 17, 2017
Meet Mara Abbott former (barely!) professional cyclist. That means she literally rode her bike for a living. I say that loosely because as you will hear, women cyclists don’t really make a living in the sport, compared to the men. Mara is one of the most accomplished women ever on the bike, winning the Giro and fresh off a bittersweet 4th place finish at the 2016 Olympic Road Race, after a brave breakaway in which she held the lead for much of the race. She has officially retired (after an earlier retirement stint that we’ll talk about) and is in that uncomfortable place of transition in life, which she is navigating with grace and humility. I know you’re gonna enjoy this one.

43 - Tales From the Shoot
Monday Mar 13, 2017
Monday Mar 13, 2017
Last week I did a photo shoot in Savannah, Georgia. We chose it for two reasons. 1) It's usually decent weather so you can make the winter look like spring, 2) Free place to stay! My parents, Gail and Roger Molzahn, retired there about 20 years ago and every time I go back, I revert immediately to Kid Mode. The first thing I always do is walk in and open the fridge. I have no idea why I do this. It's like I'm taking inventory for all the snacking I have lined up. We sat around the dinner table after the last night of the shoot, laughing, and exploring topics big and small. I grabbed the mics and we recorded some of this random, fun and surprising conversation. I have no idea if I'll ever do an episode like this again, but it sure was fun the first time! Enjoy!

42 - Reyna Bryan on Why Recycling is Sexy
Sunday Feb 26, 2017
Sunday Feb 26, 2017
Meet Reyna Bryan, a rising star in a very dirty world. She made her name by founding Recycling is Sexy, an organization that is building an army of superhero consumers: Empowered, Informed and Vocal. She has a passion for helping us keep this beautiful world in one piece as all signs point to the fact that we are polluting ourselves out of it. Reyna sees the world in a different way than many of us. As she once told me, when she walks into a grocery store, it's very difficult not to walk right out cursing all of the packaging that will one day end up in a landfill. She is trying to stop the madness through her example, her sustainability work and through creating an army of superheroes so that we can all make informed decisions. This is a deep one; I hope you enjoy it!

Thursday Feb 16, 2017
Meet Siri Lindley. She was the best short course triathlete in the world for two years, despite the fact that she could barely swim a lick before she started the sport in the mid 90s. After she retired, Siri gravitated to coaching, because she is innately called to give much more than she ever takes. She became an incredible coach, not surprisingly, I consider her to be the best coach in the world today. Siri has a magic way of identifying what an athlete needs and then crafting a physical and psychological plan to help that athlete tap into his or her full potential. It’s absolutely amazing. She is also one of the most positive people you will ever meet, despite her own admitted insecurities. Siri is a World Champion inside and out.

40 - Isabel McDevitt on Looking People in the Eye
Saturday Feb 11, 2017
Saturday Feb 11, 2017
Meet Isabel McDevitt, a woman in the forefront of social enterprise innovation, namely for bucking the system and creating a new paradigm for how societies treat homeless people. Isabel started her career working for a nonprofit in New York called the Doe Fund. There, she created Ready Willing & Able, a platform of entrepreneurial businesses created specifically to help train, employ and reenter formerly incarcerated men into the workforce. It was a huge success with staggering stats on how much it decreased recidivism rates. She later got married and moved to Boulder where I met her and we did some great work with our Running Start program. Isabel is now the Executive Director of the Boulder Bridge House doing the same thing she did in New York, but focused on the homeless population in the Boulder area. She is changing lives in a huge way.

39 - Samm Grace from Pregnant & Dying to Living with Gratitude
Saturday Feb 04, 2017
Saturday Feb 04, 2017
Samm Grace is still relatively young, in her early 30s, but she’s been through a traumatic, life-changing experience. When she was 25, she discovered that her kidneys were failing – when she was pregnant with her son. Samm persevered - even after being told to terminate her pregnancy - and came out the other side with improved numbers but still in danger of kidney failure. I think you’ll be inspired by Samm’s story today, and find a new gratitude for some aspects of life we don’t often pause to appreciate.

38 - Meredith Atwood on Triathlon for the Every Woman
Thursday Jan 12, 2017
Thursday Jan 12, 2017
Meet Meredith Atwood - author, leader, transformation pioneer. Ten years ago, Meredith was someone she didn't recognize. She was an out of shape, work-obsessed, mom of two with blinders on. She had lost herself and didn't even know it. Until the day her eyes were opened and someone said to her, "Today is the first day of the rest of your life."
